What an ending! When I started this book, I didn't get into it right away, probably because I thought I was going to hate the main character. Slowly, I started to come around, but not quite enough to give it 5 stars. I'm hoping Lena is even better developed in the second book once she's able to discover who she really is and not just who the government tells her she has to be.I listened to the audiobook, so I can't tell if I didn't care for all the excessive imagery because of the way it was written or the way it was read out loud (or maybe both). I thought the reader did a very good job with the voices, but the volume of the story was all over the place. The main reasons I liked the story so much were the twists and action and the idea of what a world without love would look like. The story had an amazing ending, one I wasn't able to predict, and I'm excited to read the next book in the series.
