The Transfer: A Divergent Story
Why wasn't Divergent like this? I hated Divergent. Nothing Tris did had any thought behind it. In The Transfer, on the other hand, we delve inside Four's head and he definitely thinks before he acts. We get to hear exactly why he picked Dauntless and why he didn't pick the other factions. We get to hear why each fear comes up in his fear landscape. That made a big difference for me. Four makes sense as a character now, but Tris and the rest of the Dauntless faction are still impulsive and maybe even stupid.
